Christmas Chickens

I was reading an old blogpost My Life In Cookie Cutters and noticed a comment that my chicken cookie cutter was really a chick. In the last 9 years my collection of chicken cookie cutters has improved. Now I have chickens, chicks and even a rooster. Each one has a story.

Well, almost. I don't remember where the chicken with the broken handle came from.

The chicken with the green ribbon adorned a Christmas basket of treats from my Mom. Her Mom made Christmas Chickens, my Mom made Christmas Chickens so I needed a proper chicken cookie cutter.

The chick below that came from the Annual Boy Scout Yard Sale. I found the rooster on the left in my search to help Cassie replace her lost cookie cutters. The little chick on the right was my first. I've used it to make little Christmas chickens for as long as I've made my own cut-out cookies. (I suspect it's 30 years old.) The big chick on the bottom was found in a Waupaca gift shop on a delightful afternoon with Jane. (Sorry I forgot to bring my lunch.)

I love them all. Now about the pigs....
